I dont know why this, what Im about to write, hasent been posted on here before. Is anyone following the protests in Melbourne?
One channel 7 reporter gave a very unbiased, objective view of this event.
On YouTube Channel 7 allowed comments to be written by viewers- I can post the link if anybody wants.
Its a sea change to see Non Fake News being reported. (Channel 7 is one of those regarded as Fake News ie. biased news supporting whatever Govt is in power, and not reporting any contrarian views)
I feel the declining share price is due to viewers becoming more aware of this and moving on to more balanced reporting of events,
like on social media or independent news broascasters.
Maybe Channel 7 is having a change of heart and is changing its attitude to reporting? I certainly hope so....
This strategy will certainly increase viewership.
All the commercial channels are seeing stagnating ratings on news and which leads to lower ad revenue, which in turn depresses the share price.
Perhaps Channel 7 is starting a trend (it appears likely Channel 9 will follow suit) and if so it may reap some real rewards.
disc: I have a substantial holding in SWM
