Sadly your very much misguided . For starters I blame the big four accountancy firms, who offer up imaginative ways for tax avoidance , while simultaneously getting government contracts, they never lose, unlike the genuine taxpayers. How to fix the problem?, stop massive intercompany borrowing at ridiculous rates of interest, which are obviously constructed to avoid paying tax. While its probably too late now, the fed govt. should annul any royalty's on oil & gas, instead they should take a direct stake in any project ,a 15 percent holding would seem reasonable to this pilgrim.
