You may be right, AVX does leak prior to announcements, however you need to remember the Phase III trials are blinded to everyone (even the directors) until they get their hot little hands on it - so I don't think the potential of ATC's results are holding it back... Indeed, just about everyone from memory continued voluntarily on from the Phase II trials - and the 148 week (?) data is also due out fairly soon.
As for size of market - well unfortunately that's growing and 20% of the HIV market is resistant to existing front-line treatments (that ATC targets).
Which larger punters are staying away? Tibotec are hanging around on the sidelines (I suspect waiting for Phase III before making any moves) and there was also the recent addition of a substantial holder. Which big holders are selling? From what I can see, there is mainly accumulation with most people sitting tight until results. There has been no news for sometime, yet SP has been solid around the 15-17c mark.
Maybe I'm just convincing myself...
