The buy today is me picking up the RRL Cigar Butt to add to my RRL Free Carry.
I worked my arse off to get a large enough free carry on RRL many years ago. Regardless of the SP and for me at least there was never a shame on holding to this cashflow positive investment over the decade. In fact I'm proud enough to have backed RRL over the years to still mentions it as one of my first forays into investing and mention the divvy benefits of holding on to RRL in the portfolio..

Still that risk free carried investment has dwindled into almost nothing now. But today is the day to put more capital into it and see what happens in the next 3 years. Where this investment will take me in the next few years I have no idea to be honest. I just know that at this point RRL is looking at some very deep discount. Will it ever come back to what it was in its hay day as the king of the gold mid-tiers I doubt but it certainly has the assets to make it so. I mean you only really have to look at this list to realise that RRL assets are no slouch.
The spark that will ignite this is the BOD leaving the ordinary which is what they've been doing over the years and start doing the extra ordinary. What that extra ordinary is, is plain to see in the new comers to the gold industry (relative to RRL like EVN, NST, SAR, RMS, SLR etc..) In fact it is not that hard If companies with lesser assets to RRL have managed to achieve it over the years...
