I thought i read somewhere Basel III has been delayed? Yeah banks and instos have been selling gold hard everytime it looks to breakout. Last time (around june 2020) they nearly got caught out on their fractional reserve policy and would not have been able to deliver gold, as they only have a small percentage of what they claim to stored and available. The rest is loaned out etc etc. They got away with it by the skin of their teeth. Since then been selling paper hard. Governments look the other way as they want people to buy bonds as the hedge/safe haven asset. Us gov has got to be stocked in the last week would have been able to offload a but load of treasuries that no one was touching before this outbreak. Is was getting to japan territory where the government was the only buyer.
