I have been following gold stocks for more than 10 years, but perhaps not as long as some generally speaking. Very typical of gold stocks to move the way it does now. It's always designed to somehow frustrate despite fundamentals. And although not as savy with technicals as some, I have learnt to use charting for entry or exit combined with the fundamentals.
From a macro level, gold is very much controlled by the paper gold market. Seems like it's being held back and allowed to rise slowly. The way I look at it, perhaps they beat down the gold price to suggest that inflation is just temporary despite the endless amount of QE. If you can print endless amount of money, you can pretty much direct the direction of the share market chart or specific sectors really. All IMO.
