MTS appears closer to 'overrated' on an objective basis.
WOW and WES have an 80% stranglehold duopoly, with price conscious shoppers simply not satisfied to pay for the independent grocers' convenience at the expense of some value.
As a casual stroll in an IGA will tell you, the prices are higher, and the present deflationary consumer environment does not provide as much leeway as in the past to charge a higher price for convenience.
It is a price war and MTS is the weakest player unfortunately. Rather than rely on such commentary alone, you should refer to the downward trending share price over 5 years and the fact that the dividend has previously been reduced, let alone the expected further cuts. Believe it or not, but MTS is at nearly a 5 year low! How is that possible for such a great company?
The p/e is cheap for a reason regrettably.
There is a risk of further downgrades so buyers should be conscious of the competitive issues, etc.
