Chinese strategy for resource domination has two underlying methods. It's about controlling the supply chain. They either use SOEs to acquire companies in the more advanced economies or the Chinese State provides aid in return for resource control. Regardless of which listed company owns the Manono resource, China already controls the resource. Their interests are developing the infrastructure required to make the mine feasible and they appear quite content for AVZ to continue with its mandate. I still maintain that China already "secured" the asset. Control isn't always the same as ownership. AIMHO
