Wonder if notion (conversion costs) somehow linked to the long term aspect of the AVZ power subsidiary. A debt/equity placement with JV into the Piana Hydro facility (or alternate power facility) with potential downstream conversion facility.
I recall you had some back the napkin calc's @Scarpa for power requirements of a conversion plant. Not sure the Piana hydro facility has that capability under it's current spec.
On a separate note; The 5mtpa study assumed diesel generators for the plant itself. So at the very least an operating hydro plant will reduce the costs there substantially.
Do you believe that a conversion facility in the DRC is feasible?
I think long term if the JV partner is part of the vertically integrated supply chain it would be in their best interest to vertically integrated supply chain. Cheaper spod conc = more margin at the converter. Win/Win.
