The top paragraph is contradictory. Humans do have a material impact even with reverse population as we aneenr going to wake up tomorrow and not need steel, concrete, electricity etc. Even if populations do not increase there will still be new/repair infrastructure. Steel will still be used, so why not wipe out emissions.
In another note, there are already dates by many scientists stating that we have almost peaked for world population. What is happening is that people are still moving towards cities creating what are deemed mega cities. There is expected to be another 6 by 2030.
What will not affect climate change is what you do at home, unless huge collectives boycott an industry, but as we know, when one door closes another opens.
