Management know right now if there is a deal in place, the idea that after a 3 month delay it would be down to the last few days is unlikely but I hope for shareholders sake there is a last minute announcement.
The collapse of Whyalla Steel has thrown a spanner in the works for all other green steel projects in the state, as we approach a state election the Labour government appear to be desperate to make it work with all cash directed to that location nothing else matters.
With in excess of 2 billion government dollars on in play it would be negligent of any company not to throw their hat in the ring, it's highly likely JFE are one of the 33 interested parties. Just can't see much happening in this space until Whyalla is sorted and there is certainly no government cash for anything else.
If history tells us that management are not coming clean and letting investors know the situation until they have no choice they will destroy investor trust completely, time will tell.
