Gupta plans expansion of Whyalla iron ore and green steel - reports - Australian Manufacturing Forum (aumanufacturing.com.au)

Gupta outlined plans to boost magnetite production in SA to 30 million tonnes a year from today’s 2.5 million tonnes. This would be expanded to 15 million tonnes a year by 2026 and reach the 30 million tonnes in 2030.According to reports he told the Australian Hydrogen Conference in Perth: “These pellets are the mineral equivalent of a 1999 vintage Penfolds Grange."

Although they are our "competitors", expanding their production of hydrogen would mean that we might be able to source our hydrogen just 100+ kms away to produce our magnetite pallets. Also expanding port whyalla would mean that there will be more space/ships for us to use to ship our 5mt/annum product. I would worry if they are next to us as they might "hoard" all of the green energy from the wind/solar farms nearby but we are on the other side of SA.. Just my 2 cents.
