WSD forecasts global steel industry scrap consumption will increase by more than 150mt in 2030, driven by increased EAF production and increased BOF scrap utilization.
➢The combined scrap share of global steelmaking metallics is expected to increase from 28% to 35%.
➢ Blast furnace iron ore consumption is expected to decline by more than 210mt while iron ore consumption for DRI production increases by more than 60mt."
Good times for green steel = EAF = high grade DR pellets = MGT.
