The recently announced Rio facility in Rockingham will be able to produce one tonne of green iron per hour. That's 24t per day. That's ~175t per week. That means it'd take about 6 weeks to produce 1 kilotonne of green iron via this facility. If Rio currently produces about 330Mt of iron ore per year, this means it would take them 1,980,000 WEEKS (or 38,077 years) to convert this one year's worth of produced iron ore into green iron via this new testing facility.

Scalability of this process is going to be what kills its feasibility. Oh well, back to the drawing board.. if only there were some large, readily made resource which was already DRI-suitable...
