It really doesn't matter whether we guess what the specific issue is, because penalties can be levied for the whole range of things from actual money laundering, insufficient reviews and checks, or even simply insufficient processes to periodically reassess those reviews and checks.
At the end of this we'll likely have some marginal bottom line hit, but will _know_ that regulatory compliance has been achieved - a lower risk position than before any of this arose.
