Andrew, my take on it is that PYC did not have the resources to chase both - properly - without being fully funded and they felt that $500k up-front deals was not sufficient to do this, so they concentrated on being a specialist.
If someone gave them enough cash to run a proper program I have no doubt they'd take it on.
I then think they chose oncology because they could control it as an in-house program, as opposed to being someone else's lackey and subject to the whims of what happens to their business - see Jansen, etc...
