shortsellers have targeted this company like all financials after the results were below expectations.
the price reflects the earnings in the next 12 months rather than the past.
negative factors affecting the sp are :
1)US dollar sinking fast(should be renamed as US peso) - qbe derives 22% of its profits from US.
2)falling premium margin ---> lower proftability
3)US acquisitions performing below expectations
4)future acquisitions will be competitive,ie more expensive, as a lot of large insurers have abundant capital.
unless there are new acquistions, earnings may have peaked - don't know whether eps will be higher for next yr.
a good share in a long term portfolio
