    I am neither an IT-expert nor a chip developer. But from my understanding, since working with IT equipment and having learnt 3, so far outdated computer languages in the 1980s, it is all about capacity and the time needed to execute operations. And in the end, regardless of what chips are developed for, if capacity and speed are competitive then those can be easily modified for almost any applications. Warfare or "Peaceware", cutting edge will always have a market.
