Yeah I can't remember where I saw it, but in the last 4-5 months of 2016, just over half the US production increase came from GOM and about 30% came from on US shore, the rest was in Alaska. The place really making headway was the Permian, everywhere else appeared to be putting on rigs and going nowhere. Bakken did have a huge jump, then it dived again. I guess the point was, a lot of people saw the rigs, but not that it probably just a few of them from GOM doing the heavy lifting, the Permian was fine and everyone else was drilling to stay in the same place.
Not a surprise really, you don't drill in deepwater for a minuscule payoff.
