Let me be perfectly plain... what is stopping an investor in a MFG fund...any of their funds ... "timing the stock market"?
NOTHING
Can they not withdrawal all their funds right now? (if they feel the market is too risky and too overvalued)...go to cash or some other asset class of their choosing, then if they judge the stock market has corrected to a value they now see worthwhile re-enter an MFG fund should they so wish?
Just because MFG is not in "the market" of selling other (so called "more conservative") ...non stock funds, or mixed asset funds, doesn't mean it has nothing to offer, or say in 12 months on from any crash etc still be in the market of providing funds to invest in, and will have 50% or even more FUM less than it does now...
It is in the business of competing with other funds that invest in stocks, or with direct share investing...
Not bonds/gold/futures/derivatives or whatever "other" conservative asset class is out there..heck even cash...
