western way is to be a slave to mortgage. The cogs get so caught up in the system they think, I nearly own this house, I could buy a bigger place and get another loan and do the same thing again. Eventually they are like 65-70 and don’t know what to do with themselves cause they became high functional cogs, they can’t switch the system off. At my institutional 40 hour a week prison, I’ve seen countless old institutionors retire in their early 60’s only to return a year or two later as they literally couldn’t cope not being in it. There’s a few in their mid 50’s that could easily step back too, yet they physically cannot stop, they just keep saying “I need just a little more” haha you’re nearly 60 dude, what more could you need haha.
