There are thresholds where it's not economical to mobilise an aircraft.
Likewise. There are thresholds where project completion would be too slow to use an RPAS methods.
The preferred choice is really a comparison of asset utilisation, labour costs, deliverables, timeframes and program scheduling. There's no hard answer. The variables can be infinite.
