This is my first HC posting. I have been an observer of AAM postings for a while but feel I have something to offer at this time. It is obvious to me that AAM is dysfunctional when it comes to PR and has been since August 2010 and the sacking of the MD who plainly had to go. Beta was a disaster and the company has never recovered but I believe it is wrong to blame the entire board. I have spoken to Albert Longo on a number of occasions and have found him helpful and competent. I have never spoken to Bill Hobba but have every reason to believe him competent and committed to the company's future. I would hope that Stone retain the two of them and believe they would be wise to do so. I would prefer to say nothing about the previous MD or the Chairman except that I am staggered that a company chaired by a gent widely regarded as one of the best lawyers in Australia could come to such grief for the sake of a relatively paltry sum of money. I admit I kept buying all the way down because I bet he would find a way to sort things out. Well, he did...so more fool me. And he did just as the price of gold finally started to get going. On that subject I am not the least fazed by the present blatant manipulation and regard it as self evident that the price will be up around 2 grand by Xmas and then Stone will look like geniuses. I will be voting for the deal with Stone simply because the alternative is administration. Finally, yeah, Stone will just take their time, drill around Alpha and the existing mill, drill all over the northern leases, keep the mill filled at Alpha, add to resources and watch the POG climb higher. Stone could see the value, Watpac could see the value I suppose my question is..why could the Chairman not see the value?
