"""Unemployed people still need some where to live"""
Landlords still need tenants able to pay rent, and banks still need mortgagees about to meet the repayments.
Had the perfect tenants once, looked after the place like their own, fixed little maintanance issues themselves, always in front on rent, until one lost their job, next thing I was negotiating $450/wk down to $120/wk "when they could" so had to let them go and pursue remedies through courts.
Highest unemployment rate since 2003 - and to put that in context, including through the depths of the GFC.
