Chronic unemployment will also be a by product of our society...we are pursuing the advent of machines to take over every aspect of our lives.

The loss of the need for production line workers in this country due to basic manufacturing moving to cheaper labour supply has curtailed the need for thousands of unskilled young and mature people.

The chase for profit is killing the need for employing people as well...Service Stations now with one attendant behind a console instead of employing young blokes running the driveway filling cars, checking tyres and cleaning windscreens.
Self serve style checkouts in the supermarkets getting rid of the ubiquitous Check Out Chick.
Bank Tellers replaced by ATM's. Telephone receptionists replaced by computer generated voice commands and connections. The old typing pools that would employ hundreds of young girls now non existent due to computers with word processing capability on every desk.
The Secretary no longer required as executives are expected to do their own typing and communications through emails.

How many jobs lost never to be replaced? It will never be the same again imo, the need for good old manual Labor is disappearing faster than we care to think it is.

Shuffling paper does not make money, nor does adding more shop assistants to more shopping centres.
Unless we begin to produce and manufacture we will be nothing more than a banana republic...the white trash of Asia.
