Ex SLR shareholders continue to express their disappointments about the current share-price of VAU. Ex RED shareholders have little to complain about.
When SLR took over RED (and in stalking the latter company pushed up the share-price to a level the RED Board was happy to accept), surely the SLR shareholders weren't expecting the new "merged" entity to hold its value in the immediate aftermath of the takeover?
As has been set out in these posts, the current CEO has a history of growth by acquisition and shareholders who bought in when he took over SLR have, in the main, enjoyed a pretty good ride.
It really is difficult to read a lot of the crap written on this forum disparaging the bloke. Someone even asked recently if the SLR Board was even aware RED had hedging!!! I can only guess they've never been involved in a "due diligence".
If you're a share-trader, I can understand your disappointment that the VAU stock-price is where it is. But the stock does bounce around a little, so you've had opportunities to earn some modest trading profits.
If you're a share-trader who bought in prior to the takeover in the belief that the share-price would surge post "merger", you've only got yourself to blame. That's just not what happens immediately after a takeover in the vast majority of cases.
Finally, if you're a long-term holder and have great faith in the company's future prospects, what difference does it make what the share-price is this week or next week?
