Miles, although a firearms buff, I agree with the ban on assault rifles etc. Used most of them & agree they are no use for hunting etc & their main purpose is to spray bullets & kill. OK.
But what cheeses me off is the stupid kneejerk reaction to handguns.Every time an incident occurs, they target us hangunners, the licensed ones. Why? They dont know who the unlicensed ones are! Here in WA, gun laws are draconian. It takes 3 months for a background check & approval at least. In Qld, about 3 days.
Domestic violence? Never been guilty but every time I apply for a different weapon, they ring my wife & ask her if she is aware of my application & does she approve.
So you cant have closer scrutiny than that, can you?
Dont know if you have firearms but if you do you will know your firearms licence no. is the same as your drivers licence no. if they pull you up & do a licence check they know if you're likely to be carrying.
So WA is on the ball as far as weapon scrutiny goes.

Any idea how much damage I could do in a crowded bar with my Farm Boss chain saw? lol.
