re. your question "...wonder why experienced people become associated with the company.". My theory is working in a listed a company provides a couple of benefits; results aren't necessary to remain employed (see management), and the potential for additional income possibilities created by utilising inside information. Let's run a scenario. Imagine if a senior exec didn't have any shares on the register, but used a family member's account to trade in/out. That's what I'd do, anyway.
