Redpill, I did give this some thought and will not be transferring. Brokerage costs for NASDAQ are on a % commision basis. For example Comsec charge 0.84%. This is very high compared to Australia. For example, a 10k trade would cost $84 on NASDAQ whereas to sell CDIs can be as low as $20. I cannot see too many shareholders taking shares on nasdaq.
This makes no difference on the liquidity. Initially the lack of liquidity (more US buyers than Aussie sellers) will drive up the share price. Gradually Aussies will sell and Yanks will buy. This will result in a gradual shift of nationalities on the share registry, which is a great things for those who are long.
