It absolutely amazes me the amount of Union bashers there are in...

It absolutely amazes me the amount of Union bashers there are in average society, to the young people who have never really known what it's like to have a bad employer there is an excuse for but for many of the others they have very short memories.
I have as much respect for the Iemma Gov [nsw] as I do for Howards which is NONE so I am what's commonly known as a swinging voter.
There are NOT many people in Australia who did not or have not benefitted from Trade Unions, sure some got carried away but for the vast majority they were the only hope for most workers.
Even workers who decided not to join a union gladly accepted the extra money or conditions that the members of Unions fought for, in many cases costing them wages in the process.
Management level employees also benefited from Unions fights for better deals because of the flow on effect & the mentality of workers can't have things we don't, in the vast amount of cases.
If many of the Union bashers actually think that now all of mankinds thinking has miraculously changed thinking all employers now will look after their employees, they are either naive or very wealthy.
I have worked for some bloody terrific people who it was a real privilidge to work for however I have also tasted the other end, where nothing was good enough nor could anyone do enough, blatently breaking any agreement or law they saw fit.
If Howard got his wish ie your vote & actually breaks the Unions where do you think that will lead to ??
Think about it, if not for yourself think of what sort of future you are creating for your children, a work force with little or no choice or protection.
One very important thing to consider is what will happen to your job, wage, conditions etc when we have[not if] the next downturn, recession or worse ????
Ask some of the poor buggars who are already worse off because of these workplace agreements, especially when things aren't so good, you & me will be next. We are fortunate to an extent that we can become involved in the stockmarket, to many it is a dream. There are certainly parts of the economy doing very well but there are a lot more people who are being left behind in this so-called resources windfall, these are the people who need the most protection of all but according to Howard they deserve less.
Shouldn't ALL AUSTRALIANS benefit from the Nations wealth, not just the lucky or select ones ????????????
To the AVERAGE AUSTRALIAN this election & your vote could have the most profound impact for future working conditions & life in general in Australias history.
Think about it, it deserves your full thought.
