yes you are right about drugs and alcohol in the work place
And yes they are to some degree safer due to drug testing, though I know of a number of people who would argue it has made the situation worse as guys are taking hard drugs that have lower detection periods in stead of doing things like smoking dope.
and I would say only a small percentage of work acciedents were a reuslt of drugs and booze
But work places over the years have also become a lot more safer, which a large part is due to work done by unions regardless if you want to admit it or not
