Franciss, I also live in Karratha and find it so funny that the locals that reckon they have it easy and are whingers would be the first to whinge if conditions they were employed under were taken away. I don't work on construction by the way.
I agree walking across the road and stopping all traffics was a stupid move, almost as stupid as Aus post employees striking over christmas
RE: fines - If you and others don't think the unions are supporting the strike action you are pretty naive. The union officials face de-registering if they support or are behind illegal action.
Strike action of 1 week or slightly more will have a big impact on the overall construction/commissioning/ramp up time line.
