OK, well, I think that my plumber/electrician/roofer/carpenter are all greatly overpaid compared with what they are worth.
It's scandalous. Obviously, there is a market failure happening here. The government needs to step in and set a maximum compensation level for these people.
I mena, c'mon! Sure, salaries for (mainly) financial services company CEO's and executives is out of control. However, that remains a matter for the shareholders and their Board. If we start having government deciding on these things, it's just the thin edge of the wedge.
What comes next? Does the ACTU want to start having the workers to select the CEO by consensus?
