The real question would be the way this goverment is running the country how many jobs will be left in four years time?

Manufacturing is moving off shore, out of reach of unions and goverment, too countries with less regulations no union interferance and above all else lower cost base.

We all know the high dollar, and a load of taxes that we are not allowed to mentioned have caused our manufacturing, mining industries to become less competitive, when we add higher energy costs, higher super cotributions, the costs of educating and training staff etc... the employer starts to think how do I get the costs down?
The iceing on the cake is when the union steps in to take its cut, because if there is no cut for the union why would they bother and the commission is not just the employee contributions.

The Question then becomes what are you prepared to do to keep the job here?

    The bottom line is :

Are you prepared to risk the loss of the work to a foriegn worker?

Are you prepared to see work mates loose there jobs in order for the company to survive?

The truth is if the bottom line for the company doesnt justify the investment the the company will move on.

So before deciding do I go to the union or not decide what the work means to you and are you prepared to have someone else make your lively hood decisions for you? Do you believe that this person will have your best intrest in mind or their own interest in mind?
