I suspect that many assets in super funds are overstated in value - excepting of course listed shares - and that is why the government is bumping the contribution from 9 to 12 percent.
imo it's a similar fix to governments resorting to the printing presses when the true extent of their own liabilities and their inability to service these is owned up to.
