You clearly don’t get out much, mattshares.

You may not be connected with the outside world, I don’t judge you for that, but it is important to understand reality. This information you don’t get from the Government or the ABC. Both these institutions try to perpetuate the view that all is great with Australia. It is not.

Australia’s Covid panic authoritarian responses made us a laughing stock around the world. Even people on developing countries with far worse healthcare systems were worried about us (interestingly, many developing countries don’t seem to have a big issue with Covid). Australia went overboard, totally unnecessarily, and treated its citizens disgracefully. And it was a colossal waste of public money, for no discernible public health result compared with not having all the restrictions we did. Japan achieved a better health outcome without any of the border closures, lockdowns and mandates. Japanese people were free and it came at no health cost.

To move forward, we first need to understand the issues with our own country. That we have people believing there are no problems and being self-satisfied with no need to enquire about and analyse what they are, is probably the first thing that needs fixing.

Being proud to be an Australian means a commitment to making it better. We all should take this on board and vote in this election to choose a different path from where we have been. Australia needs protecting and improving. A healthy dose of the freedom priority parties will put us back on the right track.
