Where is Economic Statistics? I studied that in first year and it was compulsory for anyone doing an Economics degree.
I used to teach Economics at secondary level and also was employed, as a staff member, in a research project with a mathematician who was also a teacher of statistics. I know how important statistics is considered in the workplace today.
Quantitative Economics required Matrix Algebra. Quantitiave Finance requires a calculator.
Also Economic degrees without Econometrics included are closer to an Arts degree. I was told this very many years ago and compared to today this was less important. Today Econometrics is part of Economics degrees for those who wish to gain a degree which will enable them to apply for more of the high paying jobs.
