What emerging company are you talking about? Benitec and it's predecessor have been around for ~20 years. Doesn't the fact that it has taken 20 years to get this far prove my point about business development? Check out Voyager, Regulus, Dicerna, Bluebird and the like. These companies have been around for much a shorter time yet have much better market caps. Most of these have the backing of big pharma and so, from an institutional investors perspective, this has to be seen as a risk reduction factor that is missing in the case of BLT.
