Thanks for the great post as usual Mason.

I’d started giving consideration to whether RACE would use a similar approach for PD-1 to how they structured their Proteasome inhibitor cancer synergy/heart safety announcement by singling out Amgen’s Carfilzomib for possible partnership opportunities based on their relatively near-term patent expiry of 2025.

JDP provided a good list of RACE’s recent patent application listing about half a dozen PD-1 inhibitors that are likely being tested in their in-vitro and in-vivo preclinical trials. I was doing a quick check on patent expiry to see if one of them was approaching that patent cliff sooner than other and therefore may be a more obvious target beyond the all-important results of the preclinical trials themselves.

I came across this article about Merck, which had some interesting comments about Merck pursing co-formulations, which is exactly what we shareholders would ideally want to see is a Zantrene-Pembrolizumab (Keytruda) combination. So, it was good to see Merck already entertaining those combination options to extend patent expiry dates. Also, there is a good reference in their possible M&A targets including targeted oncology & mRNA companies.
