I dont think the second line getting up is realistically going to happen other than as a political favor if it does. South Aust would love the industry and financial injection it would bring just from construction and the flow on effect (pun intended) from gas being able to flow quickly and in large volumes.
However, I think it is great that the political figurehead of Australia and broader groups that get involved are talking about strategies and solutions for the movement of gas for the NT, East Coast and Southern States. This can cause pressure to come to bear on companies to reduce the tariffs such as APA who are holding out. We have all seen Malcolms performances over time and he is not going to just step in and tell APA that they did to cut the price.
Just good to know he is aware of the problem and talking about ways to sort it out.
