I am from the area in NZ and gosh trust me…it won’t happen.
The Govt has a lot of other projects that can be fast tracked while not attracting that much hatred. The opposition from the regional government and the community is enormous. The coalition government will not want that at this stage given the slide in poll results.
At the very least, you won’t see any green light this year - even if the project is ultimately approved, that will take at least a year with a few back and forth - this is why they removed the 6 months maximum application time frame in the bill.
We all know that the Mt Boppy mine is a scam and honestly MKR is 100% going to be dead if nothing happens to any of its mine in the first half of the year. Do you really think the repayment date of their debt will be extended for another six months? I’m afraid not.
I think if you would like to take such risks, crypto is the way to go.
