While brokerage revenue represents only around 25% of total revenue, trading activity can be considered a leading indicator for EZL's other cyclical revenue-generating activities, such as underwritings, placements, and corporate advice. On that score, I notice the ASX earlier announcing that daily trading volumes for December 2023 had turned positive compared to pcp (which, incidentally, was s multi-year all-time low):
Sure, one swallow doesn't make the summer, but I think that - even from just a sentiment standpoint - it looks like the rising interest rate storm, that smashed EZL's share price over the past 18 months, is fast receding.
