    The problem is the unindexed threshold & taxing unrealised gains are features of this policy, not unintended mistakes.

    Labor has held firm on these details of the legislation for over 2 years. They have had ample time to change the legislation, but they haven't.

    IMO Labor will be far more likely to reduce the threshold to gain Greens support in the Senate, rather than index the threshold + remove taxing of unrealised gains to get Coalition support.

    It'll be interesting to see how Teal supporters in affluent seats respond to a majority Labor Lower House, majority Labor/Greens Upper House, and the tax legislation that's going to be coming down the pipeline.
