When a director of any company wishes to sell shares, they rarely do so on the market, because that would spook investors. Instead they usually find some backdoor way to do it.
A common way is to arrange a loan with shares as collateral, and then forfeit on the loan. That way they get the money from the loan, and the shares are disposed of, and the horses (shareholders) don't bolt.
