If a poster "ramps" a stock then isn't it up to the individual to assess it for themselves before buying in to it?

Sure, the forum could be full of "ramps", there is nothing wrong with that. It could even be a good thing alerting you to stocks that you may want to look in to further.

I last week and this week posted on Oxiana, all be it alerting to the buying that was going on prior to the AGM. In no way should anyone read my posts on the subject and go ahead and buy without doing there own research.

I'm just dribbling so I'll stop.
