Looking at overseas data, children do die and if there were larger outbreaks in Australia, children would die here as well. Children also get long Covid.
That said, Covid obviously is generally much milder in children than in adults, particularly older adults. Children can also transmit the virus to friends, grandparents etc.
Four of my kids are between 12 and 16 years of age. The eldest has already been jabbed due to an underlying health condition. The other three are now eligibIe and are booked in for their first jab. Most of their friends are also getting the jab.
