HUNTER WATER SELECTS EGL FOR CESSNOCK TERTIARY TREATMENT PLANT
The Environmental Group Limited (EGL) has been awarded a $2.85 million order from Hunter Water Corporation to design, construct and commission a tertiary treatment facility at their Cessnock Wastewater Treatment Works.
The tertiary treatment plant will remove algal cells, suspended solids, soluble phosphorous and faecal coliforms from the effluent discharged from the maturation ponds of the main sewage plant using EGL’s proprietary flotation technology, the Jameson Cell.
The tertiary treatment plant shall treat a flow of up to 140 L/s (12 ML/day) and following final UV disinfection discharged into the existing wetland.
This most recent success further consolidates EGL’s position in the Australian water industry as a significant water and wastewater solutions provider.
The plant is scheduled to be commissioned by February 2006.
