At the moment I suspect that it will be very difficult to find a buyer for the assets, so a takeover with a break up in view would be a longer rather than short term proposition.
And a bidder would either need attractive scrip, or cash.
Very hard to borrow for this type of exercise.
My feeling is that when we look back in 12 months time, we'll either be kicking ourselves for not filling the boots at these levels, or saying 'there you are, always knew something bad was being hidden'.
This twelve months argument also applies to a lot of other stocks where a purchase at current prices carries less risk than BEC.
