65% of the iron ore being mined in the Pilbara is below the water table requiring de watering. As mines mature and go deeper this need will only grow.
If you Google Iron ore mine water levels there are plenty of articles from mining companies confirming this.
The above information is available in Vysarn presentations over the last few years.
Hopefully they are managing to get a few more of the rigs onto 24 hour operation, that will really add to the bottom line.
