Newly appointed director Dr Fathil has a PhD in Microbiology and Genetic Engineering, and has over 25 years as an entrepreneur. He is a former lecturer at UKM, the National University of Malaysia, in the areas of microbiology, molecular biology and food science. He has first hand and indepth experience in food manufacturing and global marketing.

Dr. Fathil is regarded as a pioneer and key promoter of Halal. Previously the Chairman of Ilham Daya Sdn Bhd, the Company entrusted by the Government of Malaysia to do Halal Certifications in Malaysia and worldwide from 1998 to 2002. He worked closely with the Malaysian Government in
the development of Halal Standards in Malaysia and has coordinated efforts to educate Malaysians and others while formulating strategies to propagate the Halal concept and Halal products to people around the world. During this period when he was involved on Halal propagation worldwide, Dr. Fathil attracted the attention of scholars and global industry players, opening doors to many powerful
business entities particularly from the middle-east Regions, who still maintain a strong link with him
until today.

As announced on May 14, Dr Fathil is also the company’s largest shareholder owning 12% of the company’s ordinary shares. CollTech’s Chairman said that the Board welcomes Dr Fathil’s experience, high level contacts and in-depth working knowledge of Asia to the Board.

The change became effective on May 15, 2008.
